Same boiler, lower emissions.
We test the biomass around your site, adjust your boiler and set up a traceable supply until co-firing runs steadily.
New fuel for the boiler you already own.
Co-firing replaces part of the coal or other fossil fuel with biomass, in the boiler you already run. Results depend on biomass quality, boiler type and a steady supply. We test all of it first, then raise the biomass share one step at a time.
Gains you can count, from boiler to report.
Emissions down, no new unit
Co-firing cuts fossil emissions from a boiler already in service. The reduction shows up in your greenhouse gas inventory and counts toward PROPER, Indonesia's corporate environmental rating.
2.72 million tCO2e avoided by biomass co-firing at Indonesian coal plants in 2025.
According to PLN EPI, 2026 and KLH/BPLH, 2025
A roomier carbon quota
For plants in Indonesia's power-sector carbon trading, every tonne of coal replaced with biomass lowers emissions per MWh. The difference becomes quota you can sell, or excess-emission costs you avoid.
According to Energy Ministry Regulation 16/2022 and Presidential Regulation 110/2025
Operations stay steady
Biomass with the wrong moisture, ash or potassium content causes slagging, fouling and corrosion. We test fuel quality and raise the share in stages, so production carries on.
Supply that survives scrutiny
National biomass supply still falls far short of demand, and emission claims collapse if the fuel comes from cleared forest or peat. We select traceable suppliers that meet sustainability criteria from the start.
2.35 of 10.2 million tonnes of the 2025 coal-plant co-firing target was actually supplied.

From the first sample to stable operation.
- Redefine
Map the biomass around you
We map residues available within an economic hauling radius, such as palm kernel shell, sawdust, rice husk or coconut shell. Samples are tested with our partner laboratory for calorific value, moisture, ash, ash melting point, and potassium and chlorine.
You receive: a supply map and a quality profile for each biomass type.
- Redefine
Assess the boiler and the economics
We assess boiler type and condition, since fluidised bed, stoker and pulverised coal units tolerate biomass differently. From there we calculate the starting ratio, fuel cost and expected emission cut.
You receive: a recommended co-firing ratio and an economic model.
- Design
Prepare the fuel, test in stages
We design pre-treatment such as drying, washing or pelletising, then run combustion trials with the ratio raised step by step. Where needed, we prepare a combustion chamber retrofit design.
You receive: trial results, a pre-treatment design and a retrofit design where required.
- Accelerate
Stable operation, traceable supply
We tune operating parameters and set up the supply scheme with supplier sustainability criteria. The fuel mix and its emissions are then recorded in Energy+ and Carbon+.
You receive: tested operating parameters, supplier criteria and emissions data ready to report.
A fuel mix that's always on record.
Once co-firing starts, biomass shares and consumption often live only in operator logs. Energy+ manages your energy data and simulates fuel-switch options, then syncs automatically with Carbon+ to calculate Scope 1 emissions. Your emission reductions are ready for PROPER and sustainability reporting.
